as a tip i will tell you how to farm gold with axe: Go to the forest, gather wood, trade wood into knifes, trade knifes into gold. Thats it.

i still remember when there was only axe. Then there were sword, hammer and axe, oh and also the first ruins map. Then Rezoner added bow with another ruin map The MarketPlace, ahhh good ol´ times, being able to break through the lines of noobs with the sword special destroying the enemy archers while your archers covered your back slaughtering every noob behind them. OH BOY I WANT THAT BACK!
