^^This. I read the whole post, and I agree with every point.

Rezoner,

I know that you spent a lot of time working on the update, and I also know that the release of the new version has started a lot of controversy among the players.

I play often and have found that since the update, many of the players that I used to play with are no longer coming online. I can easily name at least a dozen players that I no longer see since the update. These are pro players, people who played football. I should also mention that these players stopped playing before the in-game survey came out.

Don't get me wrong, I like the update. I think that the new version brings many possibilities that couldn't be realized with the old version. It's just that most people, especially the pros, don't like change. I believe it's because the new movements are different, which makes the pros almost play as noobs until they figure out how the new movements work, along with no football, which was the only reason why quite a few of the veterans played (for fun and ranks). I'm willing to bet that most of the players on now are newer. I'm not sure what Analytics will tell you, but that's my guess. However, I think that there is a way to rectify the situation.

Proposed solution: Bring the old movements, speed, and graphics back, along with football, and label it Version 1. Keep the new version, name it Version 2. Keep working on the new version and leave the old version alone until enough people convert to the new version to justify taking it down. That way, you won't lose all the veteran players that are used to the old system, and they will eventually convert to the new system because it's admittedly better.

(Edit: Of course, I don't know if this is possible, as I don't know if you kept the old source code and how the servers are set up. But if it is possible to do, I would say please try it so that we can regain some of the veteran users that no longer play.)

Thanks for the feedback!

I've asked around, and so far about 10-ish people said that the lava pits would be cool.
