Playtesters

Hi, all!  Don't ask why this is kind of random, because it just now popped into my head.  Unlike most professional games, we lack playtesters.  Over the past couple of updates, there have been bugs that were spotted almost immediately.  I'm sure Rezoner does some bug tests, but there are some obvious things that are missed.  There should be a group of beta testers that are (s)elected that have access to the new updates, who have to send feedback and bug reports in return.  I don't know how this will work (maybe you can revive the old beta.wilds.io link), but we need better bug detection.  It's kind of counter-intuitive that that the game be released in a broken form which all players can see.

If this idea follows through, I would be interested in participating in beta-testing for updates. Regardless, this is very creative.

Yes, I would also have found the idea very good.

POSTSCRIPT:  I came up with some other ideas after I posted (should have put some more time into it.)

RULES:  Each playtester will have a randomly selected loadout, so they can test bugs that are exclusive to one weapon or item.  The beta will support one server (preferably a US or EU one, where the population center is.)

PERMANENT TESTERS:

  • A board of wiki contributors.  They will have access to all of the new updates, so they can finish writing before the update is released, so the public will have an in-depth understanding of it when it does come out.
  • Patrons will have a reserved spot.  This is an extra benefit and an incentive for any new patrons.  They can bypass the selected loadout so they can enjoy the new content.
  • Community figures (leaders of big tribes, Discord servers, etc.) will have access so they can get the word out to the rest of the community.

The rest of the spots will go to talented bug finders or random players :)

I agree with patrons and community figures (depending on who they are) but wiki contributors must be specific I suppose.

I'd say 100 edits+, or at least the third tier wiki badge.

hai may i be a beta tester if it happens?

Personally I feel game veterans should be the ones doing beta testing Its better.

People who know the mechanics, and know what to test for.

This is a great idea. There will be way less bugs with every update. Can I help if it's implemented?

I would like to help since I do help maintain the training camp.

+1

This isn't a sign up sheet lel

I was thinking the same ;)

If this will be introduced i am ready for testing :D

Lol we'll be deciding later, if this is implemented.

Oops I didn't mean to bump.

A great idea +1 from me... I would like to do it but i wont gain that previlage but its still great!
