Player Retention Strategy

TL;DR

To increase player retention, a noob-weapon must be added. (OP weapon with low skill cap instead of axe)

THIS IS NOT TO MAKE GOOD PLAYERS HAPPY, THIS IS AN OBJECTIVE IDEA THAT MAY INCREASE PLAYER RETENTION.

In the long run, this will create a larger Wildsio player base, and increase revenue for Rezoner, enlarge the community, and increase overall skill(LESS WAIT TIMES YAY!).

Let's go through the typical story of a new player

-Sees ad/youtube video on wilds.io

-join wilds.io

-skips tutorial, joins ruins

-learns the controls through trial and error, WASD and clicking to attack

-walks around spam swinging

-gets rekt

-gets rekt

-gets REKT

-quits

Obviously some players will stay, but not the majority.

Strong players continually destroy the noobs, making the game unfun for them

That's the problem that Rezoner has tried to solve by adding different servers, tutorials, etc...

Even if a new player reads the tutorial, it does not magically make them a match for others, they may not know about ranged weapons, items, experience needed for a fight etc, etc..

The simple solution to this problem is to make the axe a weapon that costs 200 gold, and introduce a new starting "noob" weapon.

I know Rezoner has tried to make the game as balanced as possible, but the introduction of a noob weapon, and keeping the axe at 200 gold will make it extremely affordable for new players, keeping the game practically in it's current state.(KEEP AXE AS THE AFFORDABLE "BALANCED" WEAPON AT 200 GOLD)

The noob weapon should have a chance of performing massive damage on a lucky hit, but be not viable for better players.(LOW SKILL CAP)

EG from other games

Rocket launcher - 1/5 chance approx. of decimating the other player, 4/5 of being garbage

-good players will not want this because 20% win rate is not good enough

Noob Plane - stable plane, easy to fly and shoot with

- good players don't want it because it is too stable and not maneuverable, sitting duck to shots

This difference in KD (Kill:Death) ratio may be what allows a new player to stay and continue playing the game, it is the incentive to retain them. (GIVING NEW PLAYERS A FEW KILLS MAY ALLOW THEM TO STAY)

Thus allowing them to read through "help" and get better.

Now this may be controversial, but overall I hope the COMMUNITY can help create a strong weapon that does not eliminate skill from the game.

Yeah I don't have ideas for a noob weapon as of right now, please help out in the comments!

There are noob servers as we know, and if every noob gets the OP weapon it isnt going to change anything, they all have the same weapon

+1

But good players ...get into those servers and kill noobs...

They dont do it on purpose they just play the game...

Yes, all noobs will be using the same weapon, but this weapon will allow them to have a chance of beating the pros that enter, making it so that its not just a huge noob-massacre.

They will get used to the OP weapons and when they get taken away, they will stop playing and say its hard

+2

I think the rekt part is completely true and...i stayed at this game while players werent that good and only a few players (like me)known the controls(desert) there was players which known but...i think my story has no point but i have an idea! Why not rezoner to make help THROUGH the online gameplay itself...maybe it will atract more players bc they learn controls while playing online...

This is only exaspirated by the fact that vets get disgustingly overpowered weapons

Can you explain how unbalanced these "disgustingly" overpowered weapons are?

I see that the axe is not the "best" weapon, but all the other weapons are not too strong compared to it.
