Repeal 1 idea limit for constructive posts?

achillesRising (aR) 7 years ago updated by Tytanowy Janusz 7 years ago 6

While I do completely understand the '1 idea per week' regulation set on the forums, I feel it need not be so final. It is true that before the limit, the forums were being significantly bogged down by low-quality, spammy, nonconstructive idea posts. However, the limit has held me and many other forum-goers who devote their time to building extensive, considerate, and professional posts. I already have multiple ideas formulated and drafted about the future of the game, but I am hindered by this limit put in place to protect the forums from frankly lazy players who just want their ideas ingame and don't bother putting anything nice together. My drafted ideas include:

-FOV changes, visual audio cues, and stealth/spotting mechanics

-Two-handed melee weapons that come without shields

-Large-scale, objective-based maps like Castle Siege with balanced teams

-Weapon balancing and diversification ('tier-flattening' as it's called in other games)

-Slot-swappable gadgets, like firebombs (in the mine slot), Stoneskin potions (in the health potion slot), boomerangs (in the knife slot), and Stamina potions (in the haste potion slot), just to name a few.

I am currently working on finalizing posts for all of these, but they would take me five weeks to release to the public, all because of this limitation.

I am requesting that you rethink the limit and change it so that it does not apply to posts that you feel are high-quality and genuinely constructive to the game, and that you, Rezoner, have the right to delete idea posts that are lazy, sloppy, and indescriptive.

If you accept this request, you'll have all these ideas in a week, and all of them will be professionally built, fully fleshed out, and the highest quality I can cook up.

I think on or the reason that he made that rule is because he's not having trouble coming up with ideas, he just doesn't have the time or resources to implement them all. He said something about needing more feedback about improving the mechanics of the game, rather than feedback about adding more content, unless it's a REALLY good idea and would significantly improve the game.

The other reason is the incredible amount of really shitty ideas. Just think, you could basically be anyone, so in fact you, or even me, could be one of those people spamming stupid ideas.

If you have a lot of ideas, pick the one which you think would be the best. Set the others aside for a week and if when you reread them they still sound good, post the best one.

Note: My biggest problem is that I come up with a lot of ideas, write out a really long post but never post it, because I realize it will probably never be implemented due to the fact that it's just not a great idea.

But the sooner I can get these ideas out to the public, the sooner they can weed out the ones that are bad, and support the ones that are good. It's an improvement process, and now it's going to take me till mid March to get all of these out.

Seems like someone forgot to relog.

Uh oh, achillesRising and The E%patriate is the same person?

If yes, you are already abusing userecho rules by writing two ideas per week from two different accounts.

Actually, same IP, different people. So no, not abusing userecho rules by writing two ideas per week from two different accounts.

And since I know you're going to play the 'but you have no proof' card, That doesn't incriminate me in any way, as aR and I live in the USA and we are subject to the benefit of the doubt and we are innocent until proven guilty.

I was just asking. Now I'm sure that I was right, thanks :)

Also, the logical connection between aR's post, BB's comment and TE's answer is rather obvious.
