No way, there should be something else, like being in top10 or a bit higher coin requirement, maybe 5-10k.

Just because other games do it doesn't mean that, "Oh - we gotta' do it too."
Just simply add a guild tag option and be done with it!
Aswell THERES A HUGE REASON AS TO WHY theres a cost. Why because its to whittle the number of no man guilds besides all it would do is have traffic.
Make it so a guild cannot be made unless you have a certain amount of members using the same tag for the guild. Or even better, claim a guild tag and whenever someone tries to join/use that clan tag you can accept/deny the request to join the guild.

i agree but i still push towards a specific rank
Ranks should be avoided, guilds should have there own ranking system. It makes every guild unique in its own way, restricting creativity is not a favored choice.
