Make other stuff with wood

I'm not talking about the fort gates or the campfires. Why not make, like upgrades to the fort?

Maybe wooden spikes so victims can be impaled on it and lose 1.5 hp per hit

maybe not spikes but a wooden to stop people from attacking you like in the back or the front like if you hit the wall you get 0.05 damage
