Why can't I play? /Sorry but the server is dead at the moment

I was able to play but now it says "Sorry but the server is dead at the moment" my friends are able to play but it still displays this message for me. Does this message mean I'm banned or what? I was recording some footage to create a video but if the devs banned me then I'd rather not.

FYI, I turned my firewall off and I get the same message. I also tried on one of my macs and still nothing.
