There is some issue connected with joining the game by a link.
You may think - what does it have to do with normal way to enter fort game?

Well the thing is matchmaking group works like joining by a link too - to make it easier to put friends together.

You may think - but I have no matchmaking group!

Yeah - but you are in a guild - and the game secretly puts you in VGL group if you don't specify any other.
