Tribal Communities

Overview

Tribal Communities is an update proposal to wilds.io. The update is based mainly on the new Tribe aspect. A tribal community would be a small server a fraction of the size of normal servers. In the update, Other tribes can attack communities if both tribes have 8 players online. Tribe owners decide when to attack. People are picked by their bone count inside of the tribe. The top 7 people by bone count and tribe owner will attack. All 7 members chosen are recruited out of any regular game mode server they’re in. The defending communities top 8 players are also recruited to defend.

Community (server)

The server would be customizable by tribe owners and tribe elders (admins). All servers would be a set size and amount of tiles in width and length. The customizable asset comes in when players buy goods to defend their community.

Communities store Food, Wood, and Bones. Food and Wood are added currencies which are used to buy customizable assets to add to the community. Bones cannot be taken from tribes and are counted from players as is currently. Food and Wood are taken from other tribes.

Buyable items include gates, walls, crates, boxes (in game)*, regeneration slabs, shops, chests, crates and barrels.

Players can “hang out” inside of their tribal community. Players can play with buyable items such as the soccer ball. Also, players can have a “peace mode” that they can turn on. If players would like to spar each other, they can turn this off.

*boxes are in the in game ones currently that take 1 hit to destroy and give orbs and items.

Currency and Supply

Crates store wood that the community has. Each crate stores 100 wood count, and the total amount that can be taken from it while being attacked is 50 wood.

Barrels store food that the community has. Each crate stores 50 food count, but the total amount that can be taken from it while being attacked is 25 food.

A crate or barrel must be destroyed completely for the attacking tribe to receive any reward from it.

Some examples of buyable items

Goal

The attacking team (gray) has 5 minutes to attack an enemy community with 8 players. The defending community (brown) must defend their best to keep as many resources as possible.

The goal of the attacking team is to acquire as many resources they can in 5 minutes. Additionally, every object destroyed is worth 5 bones.

Creatures

Creatures are an added defense in the communities. Defending communities are always brown, so creatures only attack gray players (attacking tribe).

Creatures can be bought with food, although there is usually a limit to how many you can have. Once creatures are bought, they cannot be sold, and they will re-spawn after every attack. They do not re-spawn while an attack is taking place.

Creatures are passive when players are on their community server, as any player will be brown.

Rules

Tribes can attack only 3 times per 24 hours. Communities can only be attacked once every 24 hours. Once a community is attacked, all items will be rebuilt when any player goes onto the server. Animals do not die forever, they also will be re-spawned. The most food or wood that can be taken from a community is 50% because of the given ratio (1 crate contains 100 wood, but only gives 50 wood | 1 barrel holds 50 food, but only gives 25 food)

Tribes must have 8 players to attack a community. Communities must have 8 players to defend.

If a tribe attacks a community and takes more wood and/or food that they can hold, their limit will max out and they will need to buy more crates and/or barrels. For example:

Attacking tribe has:

4 crates = 400 wood capacity

300 wood

They attack a community and gain 200 wood. The tribe now has:

4 crates = 400 wood capacity

400 wood

The remaining 100 wood is taken away from the community and the attacking tribe.

Player re-spawn time is the exact same as the current Soccer Game mode.

This is all still in draft mode. It's not set so anything could change. If you have any questions, feel free to comment and I will do my best to answer them.

Personally, I feel like this addition would give players a chance to hang out with their tribe and make a connection with people. Too many times do I see people complaining because they're bored, they can't get into a soccer server, or just hanging out on a regular server with friends. I admit, I've done this a few time too :D but this would give us all a chance to hangout without others constantly killing and give us a little relax time. I love the game and everything about it, so I spend a lot of time on there. I think this would be a cool addition to enjoy the game at a slower pace. Also, unexperienced players can learn how to fight better and spar when they're at their tribal community.

This also gives players the creativity they seek inside of games, and the social experience they want with their peers and team mates. It also has the "I have to defend my home" game feeling to it which a lot of players actively seek. For the opposing team it gives them a challenge to do more than just kill players and gain bones. Can they do what's necessary for their tribe? It also gives the tribal map more meaning as you can now battle the tribes you see dominating the map.

Further, this gives players a chance to learn from the game and learn more about it. Players can study the things inside of their small piece of land which gives them a sense of ownership and belonging. They can study the creatures, and attack and battle them on "un-peaceful" mode or when they chose to spare team mates.

I don't want to stomp on your dreams but the idea is pretty huge to implement :)

Some of that is planned (collecting wood, stone). I have to think about it more but I want this game to dwell towards adventure mode first then we can think of "city building". Not dismissing it in any way as letting tribes to have their own maps is something that was poking in my head for some time.

yes it would be very hard! However, I have already come acrossed a couple people willing to donate for an update like this, me included! I think it's doable with enough will power and time. It wouldn't be any upcoming update, rather something we slowly work towards

Practice mode tribal communities would be better

I agree with rezoner on this one though there isn't a rush for tribal communities in my opinion an adventure aspect would keep players in and aswell ruins would be better but there is also something i would like to bring to your attention rez. Ctf isnt as active as before since the bone update.jk: I like bones im just pointing something out
